My VERY Different Date
So last night I was supposed to meet a guy that i met on Tinder. Ultimately I didn't see it really happening as I had just found out that my best friend got engaged around 6pm and we were going out to celebrate. I told the guy what was going on and invited him to join in the festivities (as it was pretty low key in nature and he'd also get to experience what a day in my life was sort of like). I also warned him that I wasn't getting dressed up and just going as is (which meant no makeup a long sleeved t-shirt and a hoodie with jeans) and surprisingly enough he liked it! Not to sound conceited but I am naturally pretty and have been told that I don't need to wear makeup but I like to do that to at least look more presentable when meeting someone for the first time.
Surprisingly enough he agreed to come (as long as I thought it wasn't weird - which I'm pretty much down for whatever and would've preferred to do something different on our first meeting/date than just doing the typical going to coffee, or a bar or somewhere to get food). He met me, he met my friends, he took it like a champ. It was actually pretty cool. We talked, he engaged in conversation with my friends (didn't act weird or anything) and overall everyone had a good time. It was cool to have him be a part of a happy situation / occasion in one of my best friends lives. He even drove to the second spot that we went to just to stay out (which made everyone pretty happy because it demonstrated to them that he really liked me - he got bonus points for that one).
My friend and her fiance (it's so weird to not call him her bf anymore lol) rode with me to the second spot we went to and they gave him their stamp of approval. Normally I don't get that and everyone hates anyone I go out with so this was semi-shocking. Funny thing is he just reminds me of a better version of one of my ex's (that I'm still on good terms with today). At this point, clearly, we have more getting to know you stuff do to but this was pretty cool. The date ended with him being a gentleman by brushing the snow off my car, then us sitting in my car til it warmed up and listening to some music. We hugged each other goodbye and he went in for the kiss (he actually asked me if he could kiss me which I thought was a little strange but appreciated his being respectful enough to ask) and we made out a little bit (that was pretty solid).
It was definitely an interesting first date/ first meeting. If for nothing else we have an interesting Tinder date story.
In a perfect world (if he ends up being the "one" for me) and in my crazy little head I imagine that this would be a great "how we met story," if we were to eventually get married. I know I'm getting far too ahead of myself but still. The story would go like this: we met to celebrate my friends engagement, had a great time, took it from there, my friends good luck passed on to me and then we got married and lived happily ever after. Stats prove that to be highly unlikely/ doubtful that it'll happen like that but it still would be a nice story if it did!
Felt like sharing that because for once it wasn't a bad or boring date.
